Assisi Animal Foundation to Host Fashion Show for Homeless Pets

WGN-TV Celebrity News Reporter, Nancy Loo Speaks

The popular Assisi Animal Foundation Fashion Show traditionally attracts a vibrant and engaging crowd for a fun afternoon of gourmet food, fabulous fashion, prizes and lots of fun.  This year is no exception.

The Assisi Animal Foundation, McHenry County’s First No-Kill Animal Shelter, will be hosting its Annual Fashion Show on Saturday, April 28th beginning at 11:30 AM at the Crystal Lake Country Club, 721 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake, IL.

The event takes on added significance this year as the Foundation has been working at capacity for months due to the continued increase of the number of owners who can no longer care for their pets.

“We remain steadfast in our mission to provide shelter, care and re-homing animals to loving, permanent homes. We also work toward establishing low cost spay/neuter programs and provide educational programs to community organizations and schools related to responsible pet ownership,” stated Lee Linklater, Foundation Director.  “Many are unaware of the staggering statistics and how important spay/neuter programs are.  Just one female dog who has her offspring can produce over 96,000 puppies in seven years!  One female cat and her offspring can produce more than 420,000 kittens over a seven-year span.  This luncheon is vital to keep our pets safe, and our community informed.” stated Linklater.    All proceeds from this year’s luncheon will benefit Assisi’s lifesaving mission.

Guests will be treated to a special gourmet luncheon, and fabulous fashion show produced by Chico’s in South Barrington.  Special guest narrator for the event will be WGN-TV celebrity and Emmy Winning News Reporter, Nancy Loo.

The event is open to the public, yet reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased online on the Assisi Animal Foundation Website, or by calling Assisi Animal Foundation at 815.455.9411.

Remember:  Tickets will not be available at the door to place your reservations early!
