Veterinarian
Assisi
needs a part-time volunteer veterinarian. Are you retired,
just starting out, or inactive? We need your help with spaying,
neutering, and tending to other health needs of the dogs and
cats in our care. A day or two a week would really help. Assisi
has some equipment, supplies. Please call or e-mail us if
you're interested.
General
volunteers
Our
greatest need is for loving hands at the shelter. Some volunteers
are able to help out just twice a month for three hours at
a time, and some are here almost full time. Days and hours
are worked out to suit the volunteer's schedule and the needs
of the shelter. Because we must staff the workload at the
shelter, we cannot accommodate volunteers who just want to
drop in without making prior arrangements. Please e-mail

with your area code, where you may be reached easily.
As Assisi
has washers and dryers in our shelter (workplace regulation
classified as "machinery") persons under 16 cannot
volunteer at Assisi, even with a parent(s) consent or presence.
This is beyond Assisi's control. Assisi regrets this limitation.
Persons
age 16-17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
when visiting the shelter for the first time. The parent or
legal guardian must approve the minor for volunteering. Some
of our best volunteers are young people, so we invite parents
or guardians to visit our facility with them.
If
you are 18 or older, you are an adult and there are no restrictions.

before visiting the shelter.
If
you can't actually come to the shelter, there are other ways
you can help the animals. You can donate
money or materials to the shelter or hold a fundraising event
in your area.
We
always need more volunteers to help us take care of the animals
and promote adoptions. If you can do any of the following,
